Dear Parents
On behalf of the Governing Body, I would like to welcome you and your child to Farley Junior School and hope that this is the start of four successful years of education.
At Farley we firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school. The school works hard to offer a stimulating, caring, safe and secure environment in which each individual pupil can have a large variety of learning experiences in order to achieve the highest standards of which they are capable. We hope that all parents will play their part by supporting both the school and their children in these important years in their development.
The Governing Body supports all members of the school team in which everyone is valued, whatever their role, and ensures that the staff strive to offer the best standards of teaching and learning. Our aim is to ensure that the school provides good value for the benefit of all pupils.
The Governing Body would like to wish you and your child a happy and successful time at Farley Junior School.
Yours sincerely
Margaret Trinder

Gina Fall - Clerk- Responsibility of the Governing Body
Governors are responsible for the strategic development of the school. As critical friends, a key part of their role is to evaluate the achievements of the pupils to ensure that the school provides a good standard of education. They also need to make sure that the school is good value for money.
Governors are not responsible for the day to day running of the school. This is the job of the Headteacher and his staff. The Headteacher updates the Governors at each meeting on the work and progress of the school.
There are four meetings a year for the full Governing Body and each committee meets once a term. At present, there are two committees for School Development. Each committee reports to the full Governing Body.
If you want to discuss something, you may contact Governors through the school office if you do not know them.
